Coronation Street actor Fred Feast, who played Rovers barman Fred Gee, watches in anguish as his car rolls into the lake at Tatton Park with Bet Lynch (Julie Goodyear) and Betty Turpin (Betty Driver) still inside.

Fred planned to impress barmaid Bet with a drive out in his Rover 2000, but things went badly wrong when the hapless potman left the handbrake off.

It went from bad to worse when Fred carried Bet back to dry land and promptly dumped her in a cowpat!
